It has been almost a month since my last post. Things here have been busy as many of you know, but I will try and post some of the latest for those of you that haven't kept up.
Jenna, of course, had her second birthday party (the actual day). My parents were still in town, and so was Kelly so we all just had a lazy day. We stayed home most of the day, then took Jenna to the park for a few hours, took a ton of pictures and then headed to Stoll's Amish restaurant for lunch. It was nice and relaxing, which was all we wanted. Kelly and I talked about what we were doing last year on that day, stuff like that. Very sweet. The next day my parents left to go back home and a few days after that Kelly left as well. It was sad, but we knew it was coming.
For Thanksgiving, Kelly had to work, so Jenna and I traveled to Cleveland by ourselves to see family there. The trip out was uneventful, which was great. Jenna slept most of the way, we left around 4 PM so that she would sleep. We didn't get in until midnight, which was rough on me, but all in all we did okay. Jenna had a great time seeing all her cousins and playing with them. We saw 6 cousins, 3 aunts and 2 uncles, which is almost all she has. We also saw Grandma, Grandpa, Nanny, and Pop Scott so it was busy!
While we were there, they threw Jenna another birthday party! It was great! Aunt Kim had a farm theme with plates, gift boxes, hanging decorations and everything. Aunt Annette made Jenna her own special cake complete with Jenna Beans planted in rows. And of course, she got many more gifts and packages while she was there. A good time was had by all, and many thanks to all that helped make that day special for our little girl.
When we got home from our Thanksgiving trip, we had a special someone waiting for us... DADDY!!! He somehow managed to get temporary duty at Crane NSWC for 2 weeks starting immediately after Thanksgiving. (BIG THANKS TO BRETT AND ALL THE 2M GUYS FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN) It was a great thing, too because I was very tired from driving in the traffic and Jenna needed to still run off some energy.
Anyways, the last 2 weeks have been heaven for us! Kelly was home and working, so it didn't take away any of his leave time. We got to do things "normal" families do, like come home and eat together. I got to have Kelly drop off and pick up Jenna at the sitter a few times, which was very nice. I even got a night out with the girls! The first one I have had without the little one since Jenna was born. It was really a treat, even though I missed my baby. Daddy said that she was an angel while he had her, and I believe it. She really seemed to take to him this time.
In fact, he left just yesterday and several times she has stood at the bottom of the stairs and yelled "DA" hoping he would come down. I keep telling her he is at work, even though I am sure she doesn't understand. I don't know what she and I will do when he is gone for another month or two in January and February. Guess I can't worry about that now. He is planning on coming home for Christmas, which isn't too far off.
Hope you all are doing well. I have posted Jenna's Santa pic for those who haven't seen it. Classic, I know!
